Nature Connection Winter Glamping Retreat
Friday August 21 (from 2pm) to Sunday August 23
The Steps Barrington Campground
Rewild your heart and soul on this Winter glamping retreat at The Steps Barrington (Upper Hunter/Mid-Coast). The weekend will include nature connection practices, wild presence meditations, campfires, stargazing, morning yoga to greet the sun, enlivening cold river swims (for those who are up for it), digital detox and a ‘Wild Fermentation and Seasonal Preserving’ workshop with our wonderful chef Ayse.
This retreat is for anyone who wants to take full advantage of the introspection, spaciousness, slow pace and incubatory potential of winter. It is for anybody who needs to press pause on the pace of modern life, for those who need rest and recharge in the sanctuary of nature, for anyone who is seeking a deeper connection to nature and their wild body, mind, heart and soul. For anyone who already feels connected and wants to spend a weekend dedicated to presence in nature.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of Worimi country, the land this retreat will take place on. We pay respects to elders past, present and emerging. Wild Child Moves always donates minimum 10% of any profits from our events. This year we have chosen SEED Mob Indigenous Youth Climate Network (https://www.seedmob.org.au) as the beneficiary of these donations.
ABOUT THE SITE AND ACCOMMODATION
The Steps Barrington Campground is a private campground with the stunning Barrington River winding through it. It is remote but with great facilities and hot showers. Accommodation will be glamping in spacious bell tents with options of one to three people per tent. Everyone will have a bed, warm bedding and a hot-water bottle to keep you warm at night. However, we will also be using the onsite cottage for cosy fireside evenings and group meals.
How To Get There: Barrington is a 3.5hr drive north of Sydney. The best way to get there is by car. There is also a regional train that stops nearby in Gloucester. However we will organise lifts and carpools, for those who don’t have car access, as the weekend gets closer.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Anna is a yoga teacher and deep ecology/ work that reconnects facilitator. After spending time involved in frontline activism, including with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society defending Antarctica’s whales, Anna is now focusing on contributing to the shift in our collective consciousness that is necessary for us to transition to a life-sustaining society. Deep ecology and nature connection practices shift us from ego to eco-identity, allowing our actions to organically move from a more connected place and out into the world.
Ayse’s cooking is all heart and soul. Ayse has been a part of vegan establishments in Sydney for a number of years. She is a chef at Rubylonesome Cafe and workshop teacher at Cornersmith Cooking School at Marrickville.
